Avadon: The Black Fortress

Now this looks like a proper RPG title. It doesn't look fancy graphics wise but it does look more like my sort of game. A quick look on Howlongtobeat tells me that it is a fairly long game, with 44 hours being the average time to complete it. I will actually try and finish this game since it is a genre that I know I like.

Also, I have made some changes to the actual layout of the blog as you may of noticed, if anyone has any feed back they would like to give me in general, I have added a contact me form at the bottom of the page. I would really appreciate some form of feed back or constructive criticism.

Yeah...no.

As suspected I could barely last the hour while playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood - I don't know what it is about this series, I just can't enjoy it at all. I hated the entire time playing it, so much so that I won't even be playing the second one either, no point even wasting my time on it when I already know I am going to hate it.

I can see why people enjoy this game, but the whole concept seems absolutely mind fumblingly boring to me. I found myself thinking "why the hell is nothing happening?" through most of the time.  I personally hated it.

Up next - Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

I wasn't a massive fan of the original Assassin's Creed game, so I had been putting off playing any of the other ones, so I suppose this new way of doing things is going to force me to play them. Will I end up completing this game? I don't know, will have to see if I enjoy it anymore than I did the first. I hope I can, since this series of games always seems to be one of the most hyped up games when a new one gets released, so would be nice to see what the fuss is about.

Anything will be a nice change from the squeaky bum moments I have just had to go through with Amnesia though, maybe a little hassle and bustle in the desert is just what I need.

Sweet nibblets, I need new pants!

After I finished Amnesia: The Dark Descent, I felt I could wear my victory as a badge of honor and experience against any and all horrors the video games industry could throw at me. For nothing could possible compare to the masterpieces created by Norden and Frictional Games.

These guys have fear down to a science. Suspense that makes you remind yourself that it's just a game, scenery that's to die for, music expertly integrated into your nervous system, sound that quickly match your heart rate, a story I can't believe didn't come out of a novel, and seamless game-play between fleeing horrors your friends won't understand and Valve-worthy physics puzzles.

The only hurtle for me was that this game did not immunize me to horror, but had by all means destroyed me. Thank you Frictional Games, Indie delivers again.

It's a shame Amnesia was not made by Russians, because you don't beat this game. It beats you.

Well, I'm screwed....

So, since I'm working down my list from A-Z...I forgot a little gem I have in there, called Amnesia. I have played this game for a few minutes before with my partner and we both poo'ed out selves, multiple times. I will not play this game in darkness like everyone recommends you to do, I will be playing it in full daylight without my headphones on. I am a wuss. I am a pussy. SO WHAT? I AM SCARED EVEN LOOKING AT THE DAMN THING DOWNLOADING!

Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers

This is one of the games which was in my "no interest in playing" category, I am not a fan of the simulation genre, never mind about second world war stuff. The keyboard+mouse controls is a little iffy, but nothing which wasn't solved by plugging in the Xbox controller.

Missions are varied, all of your pilots gain experience points from combat and missions, and with that you can spend them on bonus' and buffs when they achieve certain targets. Graphics look good, the plans are detailed, and that's what you'll be staring at the majority of the time. The game is fairly slow paced to begin with but certainly picks up as you get further into the levels. Although I enjoyed my time playing the game, I do not have any interest in completing this game, nor do I feel any remorse for skipping it - it just isn't my cup of tea, but like I said, I am glad I did put an hour into the game, because I did enjoy it.

Definitely worth picking up if you a fan of the genre or just want to try a flight sim game.
